Chief Executive Officer / Chief Pilot / Chief Flying Instructor / CASA Approved Testing Officer

Tony began flying in 1990 and today holds an ATPL(A) - Airline Transport Pilot Licence. Prior to RAC, Tony had worked as a Director of Marketing for a US international marketing company, living & operating projects in Brunei, Singapore, South Korea & Australasia. Tony holds a Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating with instructing experience on PC12, PA31, PA30/39, BE76, C310/340, PA44, PN68. Tony is approved to conduct Low Level Flying Training and is a CASA Authorised Testing Officer.

Rob Beaumont
CASA Approved Testing Officer

Rob is a CASA (Civil Aviation Safety Authority) approved testing officer. Rob is a CASA Delegate. With around 10,000 hours and over 25 years flying experience, Rob has operated multi-engine charter operations in North Queensland. Rob also has many students now working with major airlines.

Lee Goodrich
Assistant Chief Pilot - Grade 1 Flight Instructor

Lee is our Assistant Chief Pilot, Maintenance Controller and Manger of our charter operations. Lee ran his own engineering company for many years in the UK until deciding to sell up and move to sunny South East Queensland and fulfil a life long ambition to pursue a career in aviation. Lee holds an instrument rating and is currently working through his ATPL. Lee is endorsed in PC-12, PN68, C310 and PA44.

Mal McAdam
Grade 1 Flight Instructor

Mal has been flying for 7 years, with all his training being here at the Redcliffe Aero Club. This followed a successful career as a senior technician with Telstra, before deciding to pursue his long term passion of flying. After obtaining his CPL, Mal gained aerial survey experience in both Cessna 320 and Cessna 420 twin engine aircraft, before deciding to become a Flight Instructor.

Ben Yaxley

Senior Grade 2 Flight Instructor

Ben has held a Commercial Pilot Licence for three years. Ben left a successful career with Energex, to pursue his passion for flying. Ben holds a command multi engine instrument rating with endorsements on C310/340 and PN68.

Dan Smith

Senior Grade 2 Flight Instructor

Dan has held a Commercial Pilot Licence now since 2005 and in 2008 made the typical 'sea change' leaving a senior position with Suncorp to pursue a passion for flying. Dan holds a command multi engine instrument rating with endorsements on C310/340 and PN68.

Michael Schell
Grade 2 Flight Instructor

Michael has been with the Aero Club since 2009 and holds a Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating. During his flying career he has gained experience in charter operations and fire spotting which has included time in PN68 and BE76 aircraft. Micahel also holds a frozen ATPL.

Tash Politakis
Grade 3 Flight Instructor

Tash joins us after graduating from the International Aviation Academy in Christchurch, New Zealand with her CPL. Enjoying teaching, Tash went on to obtain her Flight Instructor Rating in 2009. Tash holds a multi engine command instrument rating and is endorsed on PN68. Tash has a keen interest in aerobatics.

Gerry Dick
Grade 1 Flight Instructor - Specialised Aerobatics Instructor

Gerry specialises in aerobatics and tail-wheel training, including competition aerobatics to Sportsman level. Gerry holds a Bachelor of Aviation Degree, with focus on Crew Resource Management, safety and airmanship. Gerry is a member of the Australia Aerobatics Club and is the Australian importer for Citabria and Decathlon aircraft (owner of Aerobatics Australia).

Joan McGufficke - OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR- (Mon, Tues, Wed)

Joan is the helpful voice you often hear on the phone. Joan keeps us flying straight and level, of course Joan is much appreciated by all. Joan co-ordinates our Financial Accounts and Office Management.

Tania Dunlop - OPERATIONS ADMINISTRATION - (Thurs, Fri)

Tania has joined our team from Virgin Airlines Operations. Tania works on Thursday's and Friday's in an Operations role.

Committee Members

President - Greg McCallum

Greg has been a Member for six years. Greg provides business management consulting services and is a Commissioner of the Queensland Gaming Commission. Greg is a CPA and a fellow of both the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Australian Institute of Management.

Vice President - Stephen White

Stephen has been a member of the Redcliffe Aero Club for four years. He owns a Cessna 182 and Cessna 310. Stephen holds PC-12 Endorsement with a multi-engine command instrument rating, whilst still training towards his CPL with the club. Stephen is the Managing Director of a national planning, urban design and landscape architectural company and is also a very active participant in Angel Flight Australia missions.
