Copyright Notice

The following Airservices Australia Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) online material and publications:

  1. Aeronautical Information Publication (AIP) Book
  2. AIP Supplements (SUP) and Aeronautical Information Circulars (AIC);
  3. Departure and Approach Procedures (DAP);
  4. Designated Airspace Handbook (DAH); and
  5. En Route Supplement Australia (ERSA),
  6. Aeronautical Charts.

    (together, the AIS Publications) are the copyright of, or are licensed by, Airservices Australia.

Conditions of use

  1. The AIS Publications may be displayed and viewed on screen in an unaltered form (which retains this notice) for personal, non-commercial purposes only.  For the avoidance of doubt, personal use does not include use for internal business purposes.

  2. For the avoidance of doubt, except as permitted under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth), no part of the AIS Publications may be:

    1. reproduced, stored in a retrieval system, transmitted, redistributed, republished or commercially exploited; or
    2. edited, altered, modified, adapted or developed,

      by or on behalf of you in any way without the prior written permission of Airservices Australia.

  3. You are not permitted to cache the AIS Publications on a local server, other than in the course of normal internet service and in accordance with the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth).

  4. Airservices Australia reserves all rights that are not expressly granted in this copyright notice, permitted under the Copyright Act 1968 (Cth) or granted in a separate agreement.

Disclaimer

  1. The AIS Publications are for general information purposes only and are uncontrolled if printed, copied or downloaded in a format that would corrupt, damage or distort the information. While Airservices Australia has taken reasonable steps to ensure the accuracy and currency of the content of the AIS Publications, you are at all times solely responsible for:

    1. ensuring the suitability of the AIS Publications for your intended purpose; and
    2. complying with all requirements imposed by law.

      You acknowledge that your use of the AIS Publications is strictly at your own risk.

  2. You agree to release, indemnify, defend and hold harmless, Airservices Australia and its employees, contractors and officers from all loss, liabilities, damages, costs, claims and expenses (including legal costs on a full indemnity basis) that arise directly or indirectly from your breach of the terms of this copyright notice and your activities in connection with the use of the AIS Publications.

Statutory obligations

  1. You must comply with all requirements imposed by law, including (where applicable) regulation 233(1)(h) of the Civil Aviation Regulations 1988 (Cth), which requires that the pilot in command of an aircraft must not commence a flight if he or she has not received evidence, and taken such action as is necessary to ensure, that the latest editions of the aeronautical maps, charts and other aeronautical information and instructions, published in Aeronautical Information Publications or by a person approved in writing, that are applicable:

    1. to the route to be flown; and
    2. to any alternative route that may be flown on that flight;

      are carried in the aircraft and are readily accessible to the flight crew.

  2. If any part of the AIS Publications is proposed to be used in any way not permitted by this copyright notice, contact Airservices Australia about a licence.

  3. The terms of this copyright notice are in addition to the obligations for use of the AIS Publications contained in the Terms of Use, Copyright and Privacy Statement.
