AVI50519 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating)
Further your aviation career with our AVI50519 Diploma of Aviation (Instrument Rating). This course is designed for the commercial pilot who wants to expand their career options. This course provides the practical flying skills to fly a multi-engine aeroplane, IREX theory, and experience to operate confidently in the industry.

Pre-requisites
Flight Experience
Commercial Pilot Licence
Age
Minimum 18 years of age.
Education
Completion of Year 12 or higher level education. All candidates must complete an approved Language, Literacy and Numeracy test (provided by us) and satisfy the minimum academic requirements.
Medical
All candidates must obtain a Class 1 Medical Certificate and maintain it throughout their training.
Aviation Security Identification Card
Candidates must be eligible for a Red ASIC. You can apply for your Red ASIC once you have received a confirmation of enrolment from us.
International Candidates
The Redcliffe Aero Club is not a registered CRICOS education provider; therefore, we cannot accept candidates studying on a student VISA. Please search the CRICOS register to find an appropriate provider.
Tuition Fees
*The Redcliffe Aero Club is an approved VET Student Loan provider. Candidates are encouraged to research VET Student Loans. A VET Student Loan is a loan from the Commonwealth and is required to be paid back.
Course Structure
Multi-Engine Aeroplane (MEA)
Students then transition into Multi-Engine Class Rating, learning to operate complex aircraft systems, asymmetric flight procedures, and advanced aircraft performance management.
Aircraft: Cessna 310R
Instrument Rating (IR)
The final stage of training is the Instrument Rating, where students develop the skills required to safely operate under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR), including instrument approaches, en-route procedures, and advanced navigation in a range of operational conditions.
